About the winery

The Bernhard and Hess winery is one of Berlin's oldest wineries and the oldest in the Bergmann district. Founders Bernhard and Hess set out in 1978 to source great wines from small wineries and bring them to Berlin by the most adventurous means. Through direct purchases from the winery and a large outdoor warehouse, every wine-lover has the opportunity to choose from everything from good and affordable entry-level wines to rarities and wines of the century.

The long-standing team and owner, with their extensive knowledge and experience, select the perfect wine to complement a meal or simply for the right occasion. It's taken almost half a century to collect the most unusual and interesting wines and spirits and recommend them with expertise and knowledge.

The outward appearance has changed little over time. Every free moment is still used to seek out delicacies produced by the winemakers with passion and experience. Small, creative and innovative manufacturers, who handcraft the finest wines, are among the treasures found in our wine shop on Bergmannstrasse.
